About the event

The Nordic Fund Selection Forum is one of the longest running events dedicated to fund selectors and institutional investors in the Nordic region and we are very excited to be back in Stockholm in 2025! The event offers ample opportunities for delegates to meet and exchange ideas with peers and gain insight from leading fund managers and external speakers.

The event is strictly for fund selectors and institutional investors.

For our Nordic Fund Selection Forum 2025 Stockholm, we will be focusing on selection challenges across different asset classes. We will also gain insight from fund managers from Baillie Gifford, Barings, DWS, Franklin Templeton, Goldman Sachs Asset Management and RBC BlueBay Asset Management.

Niklas Tell
Founder & Chief Content Officer at Tell Media Group

Niklas Tell is a founding partner and chief content officer at Tell Media Group, a Swedish based research and publishing company focused on the asset management industry. He is the driving force behind the company’s research, editorial and advisory efforts. Niklas Tell has covered and commented on the Nordic and inter national fund industry since 1998. Prior to establishing Tell Media Group and launching the first local b2b magazine for the Nordic asset management industry in 2006, he helped establish Morningstar in Europe and was its first european director of fund analysis. Niklas Tell has a degree in economics and business administration from the Stockholm School of Economics and is a member of the Swedish Society of Financial Analysts. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and he is often invited to address senior management teams on different topics and trends affecting the asset management industry.

Fredrik Wilander
Research Director at Grieg Investor

Fredrik Wilander is a Research Director at Grieg Investor, a leading Nordic institutional and independent investment consultancy. Fredrik is part of the Research team with specific responsibility for the selection process and has worked at Grieg Investor since 2019. He has worked in asset management since 2007, previously at Nordea and DNB. At Nordea, he worked as an investment strategist, with external fund selection and later as the chief strategist in Nordea Sweden. At DNB he held multiple roles in the Asset Management division including head of external manager selection as well as head of strategic and tactical asset allocation. He holds a PhD in Economics from the Stockholm School of Economics.

Andrew Ness
Portfolio Manager at Franklin Templeton

Andrew Ness is co-manager of the Global Emerging Markets strategy at Franklin Templeton. Prior to joining Franklin Templeton in September 2018, Andrew was a Portfolio Manager at Martin Currie, an Edinburgh based asset manager. He began his career at Murray Johnstone in 1994 and also worked with Deutsche Asset Management in both London and New York before joining Scottish Widows Investment Partnership in 2007. Mr Ness holds a B.A. (Hons) in Economics and an MSc in Business Economics from the University of Strathclyde in the UK. He is an Associate Member of the UK Society of Investment Professionals and a member of the CFA Institute.

Russel Matthews
Managing Director, Senior Portfolio Manager, Global Macro at RBC BlueBay Asset Management

Russel is the lead portfolio manager for BlueBay's global macro strategy. He joined BlueBay Asset Management (which is now part of RBC Global Asset Management) in September 2010 as a Portfolio Manager responsible for the firm's European government and aggregate bond portfolios. Prior to BlueBay, Russel worked at Invesco Asset Management from 2000 to 2010, where he was responsible for managing multi-currency global fixed income portfolios for retail and institutional clients. He was also Co-Head of Global Alpha (ex US). Prior to joining Invesco, He worked at Citigroup Asset Management. Russel was born and grew up in Zimbabwe, and attended University in South Africa. He earned a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the University of Cape Town in 1996 and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Journalism from Rhodes University in 1995.

Natalia Krol is a member of Barings’ Global Corporate Credit team. Natalia is a EMEA & EM Corporate Credit Portfolio Manager for Barings’ Global Investment Grade Credit and Emerging Markets Blended Total Return strategies, and a Research Analyst for the Baring’s Emerging Markets Corporate Debt Team. Natalia is responsible for covering global metals & mining and energy corporates. Natalia has worked in the industry since 2002. Prior to joining the firm in 2014, she was a Credit Analyst at Schroders Investment Management covering the natural resources and capital goods sectors across Emerging Markets, European High Yield and Investment Grade markets. Prior to this, Natalia was a European High Yield Research Analyst at Barclays Capital. Natalia holds an M.Sc. in Accounting and Finance from London School of Economics and a B.Ss. in International Economics from Plekhanov Russian Economic Academy.

Diana is an investment specialist in the Clients Department. She joined Baillie Gifford in 2015. Prior to joining the firm, Diana was based between London and Paris, working on Wolseley’s European Graduate Programme and then spent seven years working at M&G Investments as an Investment Specialist for the M&G income funds. Diana completed her studies at Newcastle University and l’IEP Strasbourg, graduating BA (Hons) in French and Politics.

Mithran Sudhir
CFA, Head of Fundamental Equity Client Portfolio Management at Goldman Sachs Asset Management

Mithran Sudhir coordinates the strategy, business expansion and client communication efforts for the Fundamental Equity business in the region. He is also a senior client portfolio manager, leading our Emerging Market Equity strategies efforts and advising institutional, third party and high net worth clients on gaining appropriate access to long-term secular growth themes. Prior to joining Goldman Sachs Asset Management and the Fundamental Equity team in 2013, Mithran was an investment advisory analyst with RBS in their Private Banking division. Mithran received a B.Com (Hons.) degree from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies in 2010 and qualified as an accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) in 2012. He was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter in 2016 and the CFA Certificate in ESG Investing in 2022.

Marcus Svedberg
Chief Economist at Folksam

Marcus Svedberg is chief economist at Folksam, one of the largest insurance and pension savings companies in Sweden. He is responsible for macro analysis and strategy across the group with a special focus on sustainability. He previously had a similar role at the Fourth Swedish National Pension Fund (AP4) and have also worked at the World Bank and East Capital. He has been involved with research institutes such as Stockholm Sustainable Finance Centre and Stockholm Institute of Transition Economics as well as Kyiv Economics Institute and Institute of International Relations in Prague. Marcus is a member of a number of advisory and working groups related to sustainable finance and pension investments. He has a master’s degree in political economy from the London School of Economics.
